Tell us about your wedding

Our wedding was a complete love fest spent with all of our family and friends who have contributed to our relationship over the past eight years. We are high school sweet hearts who have grown up together and we wanted this to reflect in our day. Even though Jordan and I had been together for eight years before tying the knot, when I saw him at the alter it was like I was seeing him again for the first time. My most favourite memory of the day was when the doors of the chapel opened, our song was playing, I had my dad in one arm and was looking straight at Jordy. His reaction was so heart warming – and he looked super snazzy! When I think back on the day I remember everybody laughing and dancing, a true representation of happiness.

What’s your number one tip from your day?

Just relax. I know it is easier said than done! I remember so many people giving me this advice before the wedding and my response was always ‘yeah yeah okay’ while I glued name cards, wrote vows and was neck deep in invoices to pay. The build it up of the wedding is huge, and it really is over before you know it. Enjoy every moment of the day and don’t sweat the small stuff. We didn’t end up being able to have our ceremony outside which is what we had always dreamt of, but at the end of the day it was beautiful and really not a big deal! What will be, will be!

Describe the style and ideas behind your day.

We went with a romantic luxe theme for our day. This was represented through the glorious amount of foliage and white floral’s used in the centrepieces, bouquets and the chapel styling. The use of candelabras and fairy lights also complimented the theme perfectly as it created mood lighting. I tried to incorporate handmade touches along the way to make the day more personal – My mum hand painted each place card and I put together the test tube tea favours. To add that special element to our reception we hired white peacock chairs for Jordan and I. We joke that they were our king and queen thrones!
